Italy, France, Spain

At Travel Concepts, we have built an enviable reputation. We specialise in providing personalised and customised itineraries which allow our clients to touch, feel and really experience the History, Art & Culture of the countries they visit, rather than just passing through!

To those clients who book airline and other reservations with us, we offer carefully researched lists of personalised sightseeing, walking, shopping and restaurant information, which is constantly upgraded.

We try to steer our clients away from the modern and unattractive hotels in cities and towards the unique and traditional style hotels in each country . B&B's and Chateaux, through to Villas and Agriturismi.

In particular, we have a vast array of suggested self-drive and train itineraries through Italy, France and Spain.

Romantic Hilltowns Of Tuscany and Umbria

If you meander into the hilltowns and villages of Tuscany and Umbria at any time of the year, you will be rewarded with the beauty of this enchanting area of Italy.  There is a walled town atop nearly every hill; the fields are ablaze with the red of the poppies or the brilliant yellow of the rape; the vineyards stretch as far as the eye can see and the olive trees dress the hills in a dusky blue/grey.  It is a good idea to stay in one spot and do day trips at your leisure enjoying the foods and wines as you go.  Staying in the Chianti region, it is easy driving to places like San Gimignano, Assisi, Barberina de Val d'Elsa, Siena and Montepulciano.  We can give you driving itineraries for each day of your holiday in Tuscany.

Unique Hilltowns of the Luberon and other exciting areas of Provence

Base yourself in Gordes, near the Abbey of Senanque, and travel each day to a new and exciting town of the Luberon; from the ochre cliffs of Roussellon to Menerbes and Fontaine-de-Vaucluse, the source of the River Sorgue. We can give you driving suggestions for each day as well as restaurant suggestions.

The Andalucian towns of Spain

Ronda is the Queen of the White Towns. Its main feature is the immense Tajo or Chasm - a geological cleft in the rock that plunges about 100m deep. Due to its location, it was one of the last Moorish bastions, finally falling to the Christians in 1485. On the south side is a classic Moorish pueblo blanco of cobbled alleys, window grilles and whitewash. In 1761 an impressive bridge called the 'Puente Nuevo' was built which joins the old and new Ronda. This town is a magnificent example of regional Andalusian architecture and dinner overlooking the ravine is a must.

Ronda's Plaza de Toros is the spiritual home of bullfighting.  Inaugurated in 1785, it is one of the oldest, most important bullrings in Spain.

Arcos de la Frontera is a delightful town that forms part of the 'Route of the Whitewashed villages' of Andalusia. Owing to its unusually high position it offers impressive views of the surrounding countryside. On the Plaza de España at the top of the town, are the Parador (you must stay here) and the huge, Gothic Iglesia de San Pedro is perched on the edge of a cliff formed by the Rio Guadalete.

Granada is the home of the stunning Alhambra Palace and a visit here is a must, as is a visit to Cordoba and the beautiful Mesquite ~ we can incorporate these with an itinerary taking in the rest of the Andalucian villages.
